From the Himalayas to Your Door.
Every jar travels thousands of miles from the highest cliffs on earth — carefully packed, fully tracked, and delivered with care.
Where We Ship From
Every Himalayan Giant order ships directly from Kathmandu, Nepal — the gateway to the Himalayas and the origin of authentic wild mad honey.
Our facility is located near Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal’s primary international air cargo hub. Each jar is inspected, sealed, and carefully prepared for international transit before being handed to our shipping carrier for air freight to your country.
Because we ship from the source — not from a third-party warehouse in another country — your honey arrives as fresh as possible, with full chain of custody from the cliff face to your doorstep. You are receiving the same honey that left the mountains, handled by us the entire way.
This also means shipping takes a little longer than domestic orders from your own country. International air freight from Nepal to most destinations takes 10 to 22 business days depending on your location. We believe the trade-off is worth it — freshness and authenticity over speed.
What This Means for You:
Your honey is genuine — sourced, inspected, and shipped by us directly from Nepal. It has not been sitting in a warehouse for months. Every order includes full international tracking from Kathmandu to your door. Shipping is completely free — we cover all freight costs on every order, worldwide.
Processing Times
Processing is the time between placing your order and your package being handed to our shipping carrier at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.
During processing, your order goes through quality inspection, careful packing in protective materials, sealing with tamper-evident lid, labeling with batch and harvest information, preparation of all international export documentation including commercial invoice, certificate of origin, and customs declaration, and handover to our shipping carrier.
Processing times:
Standard orders are processed within 1 to 3 business days.
Festival and peak season orders (October through December — Dashain, Tihar, and the international holiday season) may take 3 to 5 business days due to Nepalese public holidays and increased order volume.
New harvest pre-orders may vary. Processing time will be communicated at the time of purchase. Pre-orders ship as soon as the new harvest has been inspected and is ready.
Business days are Monday through Friday. Nepal observes many public holidays and festivals throughout the year — particularly in October and November. Orders placed on weekends or Nepalese public holidays are processed on the next business day.
You will receive a confirmation email with your order details immediately after purchase. A second email with your tracking number and tracking link will be sent once your order has been shipped.
Nepal Holiday Note: Nepal has more public holidays than most countries — over 50 per year. Major festivals like Dashain (usually October) and Tihar (usually October or November) can affect processing times. During these periods we will communicate any delays proactively via email. Your honey is worth the wait.
Estimated Delivery Times
All orders ship via international air freight from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. We use reliable postal and courier networks to deliver your order safely to your door.
Delivery times begin after your order has been processed and shipped. These are estimates based on normal conditions — not guarantees. International shipping involves multiple carriers, transit hubs, and customs authorities, all of which can affect timing.
DELIVERY TABLE:
🇺🇸 United States — 12 to 20 business days

🇦🇺 Australia — 12 to 20 business days
🇳🇿 New Zealand — 14 to 22 business days

🌍 Rest of World — 14 to 28 business days
Why These Times? Your honey ships from Nepal — one of the most geographically remote countries on earth, landlocked between China and India in the heart of the Himalayas. There is no sea port. All international shipments leave by air from Kathmandu. The package then enters the international postal or courier network, clears customs in your country, and is handed to your local delivery carrier. Every step takes time — but every step means your honey is coming directly from the source, not from a middleman’s warehouse.
Please Note: Actual delivery may be affected by customs clearance processing in your country (this is the most common cause of delays), national holidays in Nepal or your destination country, remote or rural delivery addresses, carrier disruptions or extreme weather events, and festival season volume in Nepal (October through December). Himalayan Giant is not responsible for delays caused by customs authorities or third-party carriers once the package has left Nepal. We will, however, help you investigate and resolve any issues — contact us anytime.
Order Tracking
Every order includes full international tracking — from our facility in Kathmandu to your door. This is included free with every shipment.
How to Track Your Order:
Step 1 — Once your order ships, you will receive an email with your tracking number and a direct link to the carrier tracking page. This email is sent within 24 hours of your package being handed to our carrier.
Step 2 — Click the tracking link in your email or visit the carrier website and enter your tracking number to see real-time status updates.
Step 3 — You can also track your order anytime at himalayangiant.com/track by entering your order number and the email address you used at checkout.
What Your Tracking Statuses Mean:
Order Confirmed — We have received your order and payment has been processed.
Processing — Your order is being inspected, packed, and prepared at our Kathmandu facility.
Shipped — Your package has been handed to our shipping carrier and has left our facility.
Export Clearance — Your package is being processed through Nepal customs for export. This typically takes 1 to 2 business days.
In Transit — Your package is moving through the international shipping network — by air from Kathmandu and then through regional postal and carrier networks toward your country.
Arrived in Destination Country — Your package has arrived in your country and is entering the local customs and postal system.
Customs Clearance — Your package is being processed by your country’s customs authority. This can take 1 to 7 business days depending on your country and how busy customs is.
Out for Delivery — Your package is with your local postal carrier or courier and will be delivered today or on the next delivery day.
Delivered — Your package has been delivered to the address provided at checkout.
Tracking Gaps Are Normal. International tracking — especially from Nepal — often shows gaps of 3 to 7 days where no updates appear. This usually happens during the air freight transit from Kathmandu to your destination country. Your package has not been lost. It is in the air or waiting to be scanned at the next sorting facility. This is how international postal networks work. Do not panic during silent periods. If your tracking has not updated in more than 12 days for standard shipping, contact us at sinfo@himalayangiant.com and we will investigate immediately.
Customs, Duties & Import Taxes
Because your order ships internationally from Nepal, it may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or VAT charges imposed by your country’s government. This is standard for all international shipments and is not unique to our products.
What You Need to Know:
We ship all orders with accurate customs documentation declaring the contents as “Natural Honey — Specialty Food Product” with the HS code 0409.00.
Every shipment includes a commercial invoice stating the product value, a certificate of origin confirming the honey is from Nepal, a detailed product description, and a phytosanitary certificate where required by the destination country.
Customs duties and import taxes are determined by your country’s customs authority — not by us. We have no control over what your government charges on imported goods.
These charges, if any, are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in our product prices. Our free shipping covers freight costs only — not import duties or taxes imposed by your government.
We cannot predict the exact amount of duties or taxes you may be charged. This varies by country, declared value, and local regulations.
Refusing a package because of unexpected customs charges does not qualify for a refund of product cost. We strongly recommend checking your country’s import thresholds before ordering.
Estimated Customs Thresholds by Region:
These are general guidelines only. Thresholds change and may vary based on product category. Check your country’s customs website for the most current information.
USA — Generally duty-free for most imports valued under $800 (de minimis threshold). Honey imports from Nepal typically clear without additional charges for personal-use quantities.
Canada — Customs duties may apply on imports valued over CAD $20. GST of 5 percent may be charged on the landed value.
United Kingdom — VAT at 20 percent may apply on imports valued over £135. Royal Mail or the courier may collect this upon delivery along with a small handling fee.
European Union — VAT varies by country (typically 17 to 27 percent) and may apply on imports above the country’s threshold. Since July 2021, the EU applies VAT on all imports regardless of value in many member states. Your carrier may collect this before delivery.
Australia — GST at 10 percent may apply on imports valued over AUD $1,000. For most personal orders, you are unlikely to be charged.
New Zealand — GST at 15 percent may apply on imports valued over NZD $1,000. Most personal orders clear without additional charges.
UAE — No customs duty on most food products. VAT at 5 percent may apply.
Japan — Customs duties vary. Consumption tax of 10 percent may apply on declared value plus shipping cost.
Important: If your package is held by customs and you are asked to provide additional information or documentation, respond promptly to your customs authority. Delays in responding can result in your package being returned to Nepal. If your customs authority requests documentation from us, contact info@himalayangiant.com immediately — we will provide whatever is needed within 24 hours. We have all export paperwork on file for every shipment.
How Your Order is Packed
Mad honey is precious — and it travels a long way to reach you. Every order is packed by hand at our Kathmandu facility with one goal: your jar arrives in perfect condition after thousands of miles of air freight.
We have made deliberate choices about every element of our packaging based on one priority — getting your honey to you safely.
Your Package Includes:
Food-Grade Plastic Jar — Your honey is packaged in a high-quality, food-grade plastic jar with an airtight seal. We use plastic specifically because our honey ships by international air freight from Nepal — a journey that involves multiple handling points, sorting facilities, and transit transfers. Glass jars are beautiful, but they break. They crack. They leak. And when a glass jar breaks inside a shipping carton halfway around the world, you receive a ruined package instead of the honey you paid for. We chose durability and safety over aesthetics. The plastic we use is BPA-free, food-safe, airtight, and fully protective of your honey. What matters is what is inside the jar — and we guarantee that arrives exactly as it should.
Tamper-Evident Seal — Every jar has a tamper-evident seal that shows whether the jar has been opened during transit. If the seal is broken or missing when your package arrives, do not consume the honey. Contact us immediately for a replacement.
Protective Cushioning — Each jar is individually wrapped in cushioning material to absorb impact during air freight and ground handling. International shipments go through multiple handling points — our packaging is designed to protect against all of them.
Rigid Outer Box — A sturdy outer carton designed to withstand the rigors of international air freight, sorting facilities, and local delivery. The box is sized to hold the jar snugly with minimal movement inside.
Safety Guide Insert — A printed quick-reference card with dosage guidelines, basic safety information, and a QR code that links directly to our full Safety Guide online.
Certificate of Authenticity — A card confirming the origin of your honey, the harvest season, and the batch number. This is your proof that what you are holding is genuine Himalayan mad honey.
Customs Documentation — All required export paperwork is attached to the outside of the package for smooth customs clearance. You do not need to do anything — the documentation travels with your package.
Why Plastic and Not Glass? We get this question. The honest answer is simple — your honey ships by air from Kathmandu, Nepal to your door. That journey can be 5,000 to 15,000 kilometers. The package is handled by airport cargo workers, loaded onto aircraft, unloaded at transit hubs, sorted by machines and people, cleared through customs, and delivered by a local carrier. At any point, a glass jar can shatter — and we have seen it happen. A broken jar means lost honey, a ruined package, a disappointed customer, and waste. We would rather deliver your honey safely in plastic than beautifully in pieces. The jar does not make the honey. The bees, the mountains, and the hunters make the honey.
Discreet Packaging: Our outer packaging does not display product names, images, or descriptions visible from the outside. The only external marking is the customs label, which states “Natural Honey — Specialty Food Product” as required by international shipping regulations. No one handling your package will know what is inside unless they read the customs declaration.
Delivery Issues — What to Do
We want every delivery to go smoothly. But international shipping from Nepal sometimes has complications. Here is how we handle every scenario.
Package Shows Delivered But You Did Not Receive It:
Check with neighbors, household members, or building reception. Check any safe delivery locations or parcel lockers your carrier may use. Wait 24 hours — tracking sometimes updates as delivered before actual physical delivery. If still missing after 24 hours, contact your local postal carrier first with your tracking number — they can confirm the delivery location or investigate. Then contact us at info@himalayangiant.com with your order number and tracking number. We will open an investigation with our carrier on our end.
Package Arrived Damaged:
Take photos immediately — photograph the outer box from all sides, the inner packaging, the jar showing any damage, the honey itself if visible, and the shipping label. If the jar is broken or the tamper seal is compromised, do not consume the honey. Contact us within 48 hours at info@himalayangiant.com with your order number, the photos, and a brief description of the condition. We will arrange a full replacement shipped at our expense or a complete refund — your choice. You do not need to ship anything back to us.
Package Stuck in Customs:
This is the most common delay point for international shipments. Customs clearance can take 1 to 7 business days depending on your country. Check your tracking — if it shows “Customs” or “Held for clearance,” your package is being processed. If your customs authority contacts you for additional information or payment of duties, respond promptly. Delays in responding can result in the package being returned to Nepal. If customs requests documentation from us, contact info@himalayangiant.com immediately. We will provide whatever is needed within 24 hours. We keep copies of all export paperwork for every order.
Package Returned to Sender:
If a package is returned to our facility in Kathmandu because of an incorrect or incomplete address provided by the buyer, an unclaimed package at customs (buyer did not respond to customs requests), refused delivery by the buyer, or failed delivery attempts with no one available to receive — we will contact you to arrange re-shipment. Since we offer free shipping, the original shipment cost is covered. However, if the return was caused by an issue on the buyer’s side (wrong address, refused delivery, unresponsive to customs), we may ask you to cover the cost of the second shipment.
Wrong Item or Missing Items:
Contact us within 48 hours of delivery at info@himalayangiant.com. We will send the correct or missing items at no additional charge via the fastest method available. If you received the wrong product, you do not need to return it.
Package Appears Lost:
If your tracking shows no movement for more than 14 consecutive days and it has been more than 30 business days since your order shipped, your package may be lost in transit. Contact us at info@himalayangiant.com. We will file a lost package investigation with our carrier. If the package is confirmed lost, we will ship a full replacement at our expense or issue a complete refund — your choice. We will not make you wait indefinitely. If your order appears genuinely lost, we resolve it.
Where We Cannot Ship
Mad honey is classified as a specialty food product and is legal in most countries. However, some regions have restrictions on honey imports or specific food product regulations that prevent us from shipping there.
We Currently Cannot Ship To:
Brazil — Strict honey import restrictions and complex biosecurity requirements make it impractical to ship to Brazil at this time.
South Korea — Requires additional food safety certification that we are currently processing. We hope to offer shipping to South Korea in the future.
Countries under international trade sanctions where Nepal’s export regulations prohibit commercial shipments.
Any country where our shipping carriers do not currently offer service from Nepal.
If your country is not listed above but your order is rejected at checkout, it means our carrier network does not currently service that destination. Contact us at info@himalayangiant.com — we may be able to find an alternative solution or advise on when service to your country may become available.
Not Sure If We Ship to Your Country? Enter your address at checkout — our system will automatically confirm whether we can deliver to your location. Or email us before ordering at info@himalayangiant.com and we will confirm.
Shipping FAQ
Q: Is shipping really free?
A: Yes. Every order ships free — worldwide. No minimum order amount. No hidden shipping fees added at checkout. No surprise charges from us. The price you see on the product page is the price you pay. The only additional costs you may encounter are customs duties or import taxes imposed by your country’s government — and those are not charged by us.
Q: How long will it take to receive my order?
A: Total time from placing your order to receiving it is typically 14 to 25 business days for most destinations. This includes 1 to 3 business days for processing and 10 to 22 business days for international delivery depending on your location. Express options may be available — contact us before ordering if you need faster delivery.
Q: Why does shipping take so long?
A: Because your honey ships directly from Nepal — one of the most geographically remote countries on earth. Nepal is landlocked in the Himalayas with no sea port. All international shipments leave by air from Kathmandu. The package then travels through international sorting facilities, enters your country’s postal system, clears customs, and is handed to your local carrier for delivery. Each step takes time. The trade-off for this longer shipping time is authenticity — your honey comes directly from the source, not from a warehouse where it may have been sitting for months.
Q: Can I pay for faster shipping?
A: We are exploring express shipping options via DHL or FedEx for customers who need faster delivery. Express shipping from Nepal typically takes 3 to 9 business days depending on your destination. If you need your order urgently, contact us at info@himalayangiant.com before placing your order and we will advise on available express options and any additional costs.
Q: Can I change my shipping address after ordering?
A: If your order has not yet shipped, yes — contact us immediately at info@himalayangiant.com. Once a package has shipped and entered the international postal network, we cannot change the delivery address. Please double-check your address carefully at checkout.
Q: Will my honey be affected by the long shipping journey?
A: No. Honey is one of the most stable food products in existence. It is not affected by the temperatures, pressure changes, or duration of normal air freight shipping. It does not require refrigeration or temperature control during transit. Our packaging is designed to protect the jar from physical impact — the honey itself is perfectly fine with the journey.
Q: Do you ship discreetly?
A: Yes. Our outer packaging does not display product names or descriptions visible from the outside. The only external marking is the customs label, which states “Natural Honey — Specialty Food Product” as required by international shipping regulations.
Q: What happens if my package is seized by customs?
A: This is extremely rare. Mad honey is a legal food product in most countries and we provide all required export documentation with every shipment. If customs has questions about your shipment, they will typically contact you or hold the package pending additional information. Contact us immediately and we will provide all necessary paperwork. If a package is permanently seized by customs through no fault of ours or yours, we will work with you on a fair resolution on a case-by-case basis.
Q: My tracking has not updated in a week. Is my package lost?
A: Probably not. Tracking gaps of 3 to 7 days are completely normal for international shipments from Nepal. Your package is likely in air transit between Kathmandu and your destination country, or waiting to be scanned at an international sorting facility. Do not panic during silent periods. If tracking has not updated in more than 12 days, contact us and we will investigate.
Q: I am ordering multiple jars — will they ship together?
A: Yes. All items in a single order ship together in one package. If you place multiple separate orders, they may ship as separate packages.
Q: Do you offer express or priority shipping?
A: Our standard free shipping covers all orders. If you need express delivery via DHL, FedEx, or a similar courier, contact us at info@himalayangiant.com before placing your order. Express shipping is available to most destinations for an additional cost. Express delivery from Nepal typically takes 3 to 9 business days.
Q: My order is a gift. Can you include a gift message?
A: Currently we do not offer gift messaging or custom gift wrapping. However, every order arrives beautifully packed with a certificate of authenticity and safety guide insert. If you are sending mad honey as a gift, please make sure the recipient reads the Safety Guide before consuming. You can share the link himalayangiant.com/safety-guide directly with them.
Q: What happens during Nepalese holidays?
A: Nepal has many public holidays and festivals throughout the year. During major festivals like Dashain (October) and Tihar (October to November), our processing times may increase to 3 to 5 business days. We will send you an email if your order is affected by a holiday delay. Shipping carriers also operate on reduced schedules during these periods. We appreciate your patience — these festivals are deeply important to the communities we work with, including our honey hunters.
Q: Why do you use plastic jars instead of glass?
A: Because your honey travels by international air freight from Kathmandu, Nepal — a journey of thousands of miles through multiple handling points, sorting facilities, and carriers. Glass looks beautiful but it breaks in transit. A broken glass jar means lost honey, a ruined package, and a disappointed customer. Our food-grade, BPA-free plastic jars are airtight, leak-proof, and designed to survive the journey. The jar is the vessel — what matters is what is inside it. And we guarantee that arrives exactly as it should. If you prefer to transfer your honey to a glass jar at home, you are welcome to do so.
